States Attendance

Updated 7/22 7:30 am

Here is the list of swimmers who have said they could attend States if they are eligible. Eligible swimmers have competed at two regular season meets and have either: achieved a qualifying time, have the fastest time in their age group for a particular stroke if no swimmer has qualified for the event, or they are attending as a relay swimmer. Swimmers 10 and under will attend the morning session, distance swims are during the lunch session, and 11 and over swimmers attend the afternoon session. For more info, click on the Vermont Swim Association link to your right.

If your swimmer is not on the list, but is able to attend, please let us know as this may affect the relay entries. We did not include swimmers who listed maybe and we may have made a mistake, so please correct us! We must send in our entries for State on Sunday the 26th, so we do need to know no later than Saturday the 25th which swimmers can attend.

Quechee Meet Rescheduled for July 23rd

Given the length of time between when we were originally scheduled to swim the Quechee meet and the rescheduled date of July 23rd, we are redoing our entries for the Quechee meet. Any and all swimmers who are available to swim at the Quechee meet may now sign up for the meet. Please let us know if your swimmer can attend. We'll be sending our entries to Quechee on Wednesday July 22nd after practice, so please let us know before that time.

Swimmers should arrive for the meet no later than 4pm. The meet starts at 5pm. At each meet, we need at least twelve timers, a person to run the bull pen, and two meet officials. We are struggling to get enough volunteers at our meets this season. Please consider volunteering for the last home meet.

Here is the original list of entered swimmers. Please let us know if you'd like us to add or remove a swimmer from this list.

Southern Vermont Swim League Meet, Saturday, July 25th

As you may already know, our League meet is July 25th. For those of you new to the team, this is a meet for all the teams in the Southern Vermont Swim League (SVSL). All Woodstock swimmers are eligible to attend this meet. The 10 and Under Swimmers attend a morning session. Warm-ups for the 10 and Unders will begin sometime after 7:45am and the session will begin at 9am. The 11 and Over Swimmers attend the afternoon session, with warm-ups beginning around noon for a 1:30pm start time.

Medals are awarded for first through sixth place relays and first through eight place for individuals. Ribbons are awarded for seventh through tenth places for relays and ninth through twentieth for individuals. We strongly encourage all swimmers to attend this meet, as it is one of the culminating events of the season.

Here is a list of swimmers who will be entered into the SVSL meet in Rutland based on the Meet Attendance check lists. If your swimmer's name is not on this list, it is because we did not receive a check-off sheet or because you indicated "no" or "maybe" on the form. Please inform the coaches no later than 2:30pm on July 22nd if we need to add or remove a swimmer from this list. If your swimmer has signed up for the meet, but does not attend, the family will need to pay a $15 meet fee.

I neglected to include the Manchester Meet on our Meet Check Off lists. New sheets will be distributed at practices and will be posted on the WST bulletin board near the Lifeguard Office. If you have already submitted a sheet, we'll be in touch to find out if your swimmer can attend.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Stroke and Turn Clinics for Adults

Stroke and Turn Officials are vital to the success of our swimmers. Each year, our League requires WST to name at least four Stroke and Turn Officials, and we are obligated to train at least two new volunteers each year. There are unfortunate consequences if we do not have officials. First, we cannot hold meets if both teams cannot provide a combined minimum of three officials. Also, if our team does not have the at least two Stroke and Turn officials at each meet, we can be fined $50 per meet!

Please consider attending one of the Stroke and Turn Clinics, provided at no cost to you. You do not have to be a swim expert, just someone interested in learning more about swimming! You can help us hold swimmers accountable for their strokes, you get the best spots to watch meets, and you will be improving the quality of our league.

Please contact WST Coaches at wstcoaches@gmail.com if you are interested.
