Last Chance Invitational Meet
Sunday, August 1st @ Springfield EMHRC
Details TBD
This meet will be held the Sunday after Leagues if the League meet is able to run with no major rain delays or cancellations. The meet is for swimmers who have not achieved a qualifying time for States but are close and wish to try one more time for the time standard. There is an entry fee associated with this meet. We will finalize our entries on July 31st, so please be in touch if your swimmer is interested in this meet.

VSA Championship Meet
Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8 @ Upper Valley Aquatic Center in WRJ

10 and Under Swimmers compete in the Morning Sessions
11 and Over Swimmers compete in the Afternoon Sessions
Distance Swims are held during the Lunch Sessions

Swimmers can qualify for States either by achieving the qualifying time set by the Vermont Swim Association (VSA) or by being the fastest member of the team in a particular event. This means your swimmer may be eligible even without achieving the qualifying time. Please contact a coach if your swimmer is interested in attending, regardless of time achievement. This will help us assemble our roster for the meet. Again, for more meet information, please go to www.vtswim.org or check our bulletin board at the pool.

Please be sure to inform us of your plans to attend. It is important for swimmers to attend if they sign-up. When swimmers do not show, we lose opportunities to score points and some relay teams are unable to compete. Achievements:
If we're not drenched from the heat, we're soaked in rain! Despite inclement weather, WST spirits were high and our volunteers were focused throughout our tri-meet with Killington and Quechee yesterday. We want to take the time to recognize some important achievements.

First, Mia Roof and Mary Ann Bees competed as WST Swimmers for the first time yesterday. Fantastic job!

In addition to the fact that 28 swimmers had seasonal bests and 4 more swimmers are now State qualifiers, we also had several outstanding seasonal improvements from our WST swimmers including:

100 Free-Campbell Boswell, 6.90 seconds

50 Free-
Katrina Boswell, 5.01 seconds
Monica Devine, 4.65 seconds
Isaac Emery, 4.58 seconds
Megan Grey, 7.56 seconds

25 Free-Sidney Pilot, 4.42 seconds

Also notable, Hannah Cox and Campbell Boswell tied for Individual High Points Winners for the meet with 24 individual points each. Well done.

Congratulations to all our WST swimmers, not only for their successful swims but also for their excellent meet etiquette.

Thank you again to Kent McFarland who has made the 2010 Dolphin System transition seem easy when it is in fact complicated and fast-paced work. Thank you also to all our swimmers who not only competed, but also helped with younger swimmers and/or with meet set-up, post-meet clean-up and ribbon sorting, including Monica Devine, Finn McFarland, Piper Jenne, Grace Amato, Eve Amato and Maddie Gilbert. Special thanks to the timers, bull-pen volunteers and stroke and turn officials for maintaining calm in the midst of weather chaos.
